He has always conducted himself with class and has done right by our players.

Until now...

He is hosing one of of our players directly, and several all the others are catching the schrapnel

JL has stayed with the program despite the terrible treatment he has received from our fan base. He outplayed JJ badly in the spring game, he came into camp this year in great physical shape, and by most accounts has outplayed JJ in practice.

Although we have played three below average opponents (the best of which was missing their entire defensive backfield to suspension), our passing game has been terrible. Our QB has had good completion percentage in two of the games while failing to move the offense effectively, and he played one of the worst games imaginable in the other.

We were leading by 20+ in two of the 3 games (one at half, the other before the start of the 4th), and JL has been allowed to play 3 series and throw a single pass (the most professional looking pass play our team has executed this season).

Our entire team has been working hard to be a championship football team, and they deserve for the coaching staff to give them the best opportunity to be the best team they can be. JJ played about as well as he can play last night, and he managed less than 100 yds passing...that may be winning football against the MSUs and Vandys of the world, but the teams in the west that start with A will be a different story. Our receivers have the goal of being drafted early in the draft and being big time pro players...that is hard to do when your team throws for an average of less than 125 yds/game.

There are two issues at stake:

1) JL may be the better option at QB. No one will know for sure unless Miles lets him play meaningful snaps. Even if JJ is out-playing him in practice (which is not supported by the rumor mill), JL may be the better game day player.

2) JJ could get hurt during one of our tough games...just like the UF game last year. If JL has not had meaningful snaps, he will have a difficult time adjusting to game speed and will have little chance to be successful.

For reasons that we do not know, Miles will not allow JL to play meaningful snaps. I can come up with a few possible reasons, and only one of them salvages my opinion of his Miles' character. If JL has committed some infraction that he is being punished for, then I apologize for making these comments. If however he is not letting Lee play because he does not want the fans to know that he has been playing the wrong player for the last season and 3 games, or because he just doesn't want there to be a QB controversy (which he already has), or because he simply "enjoys" JJ more than he does JL and doesn't want to hurt his feelings, then shame on Les Miles.

miles does not want lee to do well in mop up duty and cause a bigger qb controversy than already exists.

How can you say JL hasn't played meaningful snaps? He has started several games for LSU. It boogles my mind when people say lee hasn't been given a chance.

or another theory, as wild as it may seem, that the staff believes JJ gives the team the best chance at victory...

the bottom line is this, both QB's have issues running the offense. JJ has the ability to make something happen with his feet, which gives him an advantage over Lee. Lee may have outperformed JJ in practice, but that doesn't mean Lee has overcome his issues with making bad decisions under pressure.

I hope Les recovers from your stinging rebuke.

Kathy will probably have to pull the kids out of school, now that the Great "Housplants" has chimed in .

There are a ton of guys that play for LSU who bust their arse alot harder than the qbs who don't even get to dress out.

Miles perceives JJ as the better team leader. I don't see him being much of a leader, but I don't see much leadership in JL either.

Did he do right by JJ when he threw him under the bus after the Ole Miss debacle last year?

Did he do right by Dexter Pratt? By Storm Johnson?

I could go on....

Agreed.

We don't need JL to throw the ball 35 times a game. But with JL we can have qb that can make the passes when necessary.

So you REALLY dont know the reason, not listed in your thesis there is that JL really tends to panic and throw it right to the other team.

Also not covered is that throwing it to the other team is a bad thing.

Now, I am not that pleased with Jefferson most the time, but to act as if one doesnt understand the issues with putting JL in is plain dumb.

you should have stopped there....the rest was garbage. if the staff though that JL gave the team the best chance to win he would be on the field. when your job depends on the performance of kids...you don't play favorites. get a clue.

Not playing a certain QB as much as you would like to see does not equate to a "character" issue.

This is just me, but I'll go with the 12-3, 7-3 staff in our last 15 regular season games picking out who plays and how much, but each to our own.
