I will also track the Q&A's and list them in this first post so we won't have to have a thousand what did Les say tonight posts at the end of this thing...

____________________________________________________

Q: Besides ball security, what's the top two or three things you look from a young ball carrier before you let him in the game?

A: To be elusive, have skill, to have a basic instinct of how to get into space and stay in space with speed, awareness. Be productive and have catching ability, and of course hold onto the ball.

Q: Is Ford is Les' doghouse or is he the 4th best running back on the team?

A: He is not in my doghouse in any way. He will get his touches and we will bring him on and we will not be surprised if he gets some carries against Mississippi State. He has skill and ability but right now we're pausing about the times to get him into the game.

Q: What is the biggest challenge in facing Miss St's dual threat QB's and how big of an advantage is playing at home this weekend?

A: It is an issue but we've practiced their best stuff and we'll have a handle on what they do. The advantages of Tiger Stadium are many and seeing the fans, scoreboard, etc brings the best out of you and we look forward to it.

Q: Can we see some more quick WR screens and can #15 (Brandon Taylor) get some help in the secondary?

A: We enjoy the quick screens, we practice them but it's difficult to handle a screen when you don't get much pass rush. We'll get to those soon. I think #15 is one of our best players in the secondary. It's tough to make every play and your point of view can be skewed if the bad plays stick out to you. We do have many guys on defense that can help him out.

Q: What is your main strategy for Miss St and how do the boys in the locker room handle gameday? (or something like that)

A: Run it, throw it, stop em, cover kicks, do everything well. There's an anxiety in the locker room before every game... nervous energy you can cut with a knife. Until you get out there and hit some people, it's miserable. Waiting to play is worse than anything there is. Halftime is about making adjustments. Postgame is all about enjoying the game, signing the fight song, etc...

Q: What does Les do to talk to his players about all the negative talk from the fans? (It's about not booing this weekend) Idk Jeannie sucks as usual.

A: I certainly concur... This is my team. I love this team. This team is imperfect. But they're damn good and given the chance will play extremely well. There's nobody that's perfect. I will coach hard, be aggressive about change, tell my guys to do the same and support them like hell.

Q: What challenges do you face about playing young guys and will it help recruiting?

A: We are playing a number of young players. A young team gets better faster because experience means more to younger players. But it takes some coaching. I enjoy this team and like the fact we're playing a young team because in the near future this young team will be very salty.

Q: When will Deangelo Peterson be back?

A: He ran today, wore a helmet and shoulder pads for pieces of practice. I expect him to be ready if not this week next week. (vs. West Virginia.)

Q: Les you coach soft. (Les chuckles). You don’t run the score up. You need to go get em. We have some tough opponents coming up so play the hot players that are getting it done.

A: I promise you we haven’t put the 2nd team in much. We would love to have some dominant performances. There’s a time that I want to run the ball and finish the game and we do that. Continuing to score more on your opponent is nice and we would like to do that.

Someone brings cake to Les from Megan's 1st birthday party.

Q: Miss St ran well against us last season. What are you doing to fix that and how will you handle Chad Bumphis with us focusing on stopping the run?

A: He’s a good receiver and we recognize that. (Les burps). They are also a good running team. We are ready on defense and we tackle well. It will take a good tackling team to handle them.

Jim thinks the next caller “Pat” is a man. Jim says idk it just said Pat.

Q: (She has no real question.) I got my season tickets back and I've taken a picture before with you, Les.

A: Oh really where was it taken?

Jim knows where Patterson, Louisiana is.

Q: What's the difference between red shirts, green shirts, grey shirts, blue shirts, purple shirts. I don't get it and neither do my friends.

A: Les explains what each one is. I don't think this is really necessary to type out.
