Yes, and there are MANY other teams both college and pro that do the same thing.

I think he actually said 25-30, which seems like an awful lot.

How many plays did we run in the first half last week?

Still, 25 is a lot.

Wow. Could that explain our crappiness in the first half ,last week?

And could it mean Crowton &/or Miles are making great adjustments after the scripted plays have been run?

Im not suggesting something is wrong with it or that I have a problem with it, just wondering if I dreamed it up.
With that cleared up then its safe to say those 15-20 plays are practiced alot during the week with defense giving pretty much every look to the offense they can get.. correct?

Point is the ordinary fan would think that it would be a big advtage to the offense by doing this.

It's probably to get a feel for how the defense adjusts to certain plays and formations as a reference for later in the game. The problem is at number, 95% of our plays are scripted.

Meh. Good adjustment, I guess. Great adjustment = abandoning the scripted plays when your first three drives are three and out.

those scripted plays are so much more than just an attempt to score. they're seeing how the defense lines up against specific situations/men in motion so they can make TD scoring playcalls later.

or at least that's what a good OC would be doing, no idea what the wiz is doing with it.

People have a misunderstanding of what "scripted plays mean". It's not like they say this is play #1, then #2, then #3. There is a different script for each down and distance. Ideally this shows the OC what type of plays are working in different situations so he can call the rest of the game.

1st play last week was a QB keeper I think. I wonder what the Wizard learned from that.

My point.

Based on the complete transformation in the second half, those scripted plays served literally no purpose. They were wasted plays, wasted possessions, and wasted time.

so I suppose the next question is do we get these plays right in practice and not in the game or we never get it right in practice??
Im a little confused.

Actually they did serve a purpose. They showed what would work in the second half.
