old. Yes, they deserve some criticism, but not like this. It's getting old and it's driving away some very good posters and positive tiger fans.

Just remember, negativity catches on. So every damn time you post some bs in a positive thread chastising the team, it makes things shitty around here.

The rant isn't just a rant. It's a place where LSU fans gather to discuss the team, school, and mostly LSU football. It's a great place. Don't make it a wasteland of negative crap where no one wants to come anymore because they read the same thing over and over again.

It's OK sometimes, but it's gotten to the point where everyone has lost the point of the rant. We are no longer celebrating what is LSU. We've wandered into conversations about Miles coaching ability and JJs qb play.

When was the last time you saw a thread about the University or how awesome it was to see your first Tiger game? What about the first time you got drunk and threw up in the stadium's bathroom? The smell of old Alex Box, or the eerie feeling you get when you pass by that stadium at night and the lights are on? There may be some minor bumps right now, but let's not forget the big picture: We get to wake up every damn day and be a Tiger. Can you even imagine what it's like for a rebel, volunteer, or even worse, a Gump?

So, I beg you folks that intend on bashing the team, players, or coaches, please keep it to an educated, sophisticated, and adult like conversation. We are all here (whether you're a positiger or negatiger) because we LOVE LSU and EVERYTHING IT REPRESENTS. So, I think the least we can do is to bring some civilized conversation rather than absolute jackassery to the board.

Thank you, and you may continue with your evening. GEAUX TIGERS.

while I can be a very good complainer, there comes a time when it looses its effect.

Its kind of like if you are really pissed off, and you are cussing and droppin f-bombs everywhere constantly. By the 12th "frick", anyone within earshot either laughs at you or thinks you're a jerk. You gotta break that cussin out at the right time you know.

All it really takes are the few positive fans that are left around here to stand up to some of the worthless, noobs who signed up just to come on here and talk negatively. We've really sat by the last few weeks and let things get out of control. I'm tired of it.

There have been some, but they are quickly hijacked and taken over by bullshite posts. Anything positive will be dealt with quickly and harshly.

for example...

I'm glad the admins are just as unhappy as I am. It really has affected almost all the regulars over here.

right now, LSU is ranked #5 on Sagarin. Sagarin predicts LSU would be #7 in the BCS formula.

also LSU is #12 and #15 in two polls.

I think its amazing the degree of negativity generated about a team which is ranked in the top 7 by one of the BCS computers, Sagarin.

Easier to face reality now than wake up two months from now and realize how big of a cluster the program is really in. BTW the signs of the past two years have been present since 2005.

It is one thing to make a mistake once, but when they occur over and over, it is problem with coaching. Not to mention the complete lack of preparation. It really gets old looking at players with the "deer in headlight" look when put in certain situations.

Please don't respond to this with some dumb comment such as "we're 2-0 what more do want." We beat Vandy (who may not win a game this year) and UNC (with numerous players missing) who plays in arguably the worst BCS conference (based on last weekends performance it is a tough race between the ACC and the Big East). Once again we have a coaching staff that is surviving on talent alone. Just once I would like to watch a game and say "wow our coaching staff got everything out of their players." Hope I'm wrong, but haven't seen anything in the first two games to give me any confidence otherwise.

Negativity is a label used by the naive who refuse to see the reality that everyone else in the county (those not wearing your P&G glasses) can plainly see.

I'm not concerned with legitimate talk about concerns. I'm talking about the repetitive attacks on players and coaches. You have a great point. I'm just asking that ranters discuss things as you would in person and not through a computer.

I'm not saying you're being negative. If anything, you're being a realist. You see there are problems and you are concerned. But I don't like the guys who come on here, start shite, and then leave a trail of their filth all over the board.

I agree with that. My beef is with the coaching staff (in particular the head coach) not necessarily with players. Players aren't the ones being paid $3.75M per year (not legally at least, just kidding).

And like I said in the OP, the rant is here for all types of discussions, not just sunshine pumpers. Negativity brings change, just as positivity does. But when you see one overly moronic post, it tends to lead to another, and another, and another.

If we as LSU fans let this start happening, an I'm sure you're jsut as big of a fan as me, we won't have anything fun to talk about. We'll be sitting in a swamp of bitching and complaining, and before we know it the season is over.

After all, we all waited like little children on Christmas Eve for the season to get here, so I'm not about to let some schmuck ruin it for me.

Thanks, I'm sure there are tons more on the board like this. I wish this would get stickied so everyone could read it. Maybe it would make some of these guys realize te true importance that LSU has in all of our lives.
