and a LOT of people here will be mad....
Couldn't help but notice the size of Kenny Hilliard, a senior in HS this year. Powerback tendancies... am I the only person that sees the pheramone trail going to Miles nose for power backs?

Uh, Rueben Randle started last year. Jefferson started at the end of '08. It's not uncommon to have one true frosh starters per year.
But there's no way that a true frosh Hilliard beats out Ridley, Ford, Ware, and Gore.

Ridley just fumbled a 2-3 times and is starting once again this week, you really think Hilliard will start over him as a freshman when Ridley is a senior?

He does like power backs, but Hilliard will not start next year.

FRESHMAN SEASON (2009)
Made an immediate impact in his first year at LSU after being one of the most coveted high school recruits a year ago ... Played in 13 games with four starts ... Started four of LSU's final five games, including the Capital One Bowl against Penn State ... Started in LSU's three-wide set ... Finished season with 11 receptions for 173 yards and two TDs ... Both touchdowns came at Ole Miss - one for 17 yards and the other a 25-yard pass late in the fourth quarter that pulled the Tigers to within 25-23 ... Finished Ole Miss game with 42 yards on two receptions ... Caught two passes for 28 yards in win over Georgia, both coming in the fourth quarter ... Earned his first career start at Alabama ... Made an outstanding grab against Auburn for a career-long of 31 yards ... Made his first career reception against Louisiana-Lafayette for 15 yards.

You missed that part. We just started out those games in 3-WR which is why he started. Base formation, which includes 2 WRs typically, he was not considered a "Starter"

Jeremy Hill is better
he very well may be he's not as freakish though, Hilliard = James Wilder Jr

Mile's does like "seniority", but I think his ultimate hard on is for size. If we had a 300lb running back that was 16 years old with a waiver, Miles would play him.

Per the website he was. Besides we were in the 3 wide sets almost all the time last year.

He told JV to keep hanging out at Bogie's.

Seems like there was the exact same discussion about Ford during his senior year. See how that's worked out.

You didn't get what I was saying.

Eh, more than usual because we didnt have a FB. But we were in Ace set a lot too with 2-TE, 2-WR. Typically, our "Base" formation is I or Ace.

When was the last time we started a balanced or speed back over a powerback on a regular basis? Ridley lined up at fullback against UNC, wouldn't be surprised if he moved back to fullback next year with Ware developing and Hilliard comming in. Why do we even recruit quicker speed backs? We ran the ZONE READ, more than any other play versus UNC. Ridley is good, but he sure as hell isn't the best back for gashing zones.
