I would also like to know how challenging it is for the O-line to execute. The blocking scheme has to be different and they only run it a handful of times a game. This may also be a reason for its lack of success.

It's not the o line's fault. IMO JJ is simply not initially showing patientce to draw the defense in forcing a decision point: pitch or run. He's getting caught in no-mans-land and the play gets blown up. Also I don't think JJ has the physical skills to run the option effectively. Compare JJ's physical skills to "option" QBs. Option QBs have a much quicker first step and a stature closer to a running back. JJ best bet IMO is to stay in the pocket and prefect his passing skills.
