i read somewhere friday about this year being the year for a defensive player to win the heisman, i will post a link as soon as i find that article. but i immediately thought, Patrick Peterson, and after this weekend i thought some people in the media might agree
257 yards -- including an 87-yard touchdown -- on kickoff and punt returns!

he will have to get quiet a few picks in order to win the heisman. i don't think that special teams play will get him the trophy. but, you never know.

We'll be lucky if he's here next year - really lucky. That kid is the real deal and then some.

If he can produce even 50% of what he did Saturday night for the rest of the season, add in some pick sixes, he will be in NYC.

If LSU had won this game convincingly PP may have gotten some love from the national media for the game he played. However, all the national talk about this game was how North Carolina did such a great job being so undermanned. The only thing that I heard about LSU was how anemic their offence is, Les Miles is still on the Hot Seat, etc. As long as LSU continues to play like this, PP will get no national attention.

If Peterson has about 8 Retrun TD's and about 6 INT's...that's would be pretty awesome!

Like Charles Woodson, if they line him up on Offense a couple of times, its possible!

I think regardless of LSU's record; peterson SHOULD get Heisman recognition. Corner is not a position that, like a QB or RB, you can key in on to win the game. The amount of action a Corner gets is really dependent on what the other team does. If he continues to excel in special teams and is the same cover guy he was last year he should get recognition because the fact of the matter is he is one of the best players in college football.
