This place is a must. The atmosphere is thick in this place, and the food is outstanding. Check out the menus.
You can't throw a rock without hitting a sushi joint in SF. For seafood I always just got the rainbow trout at a normal restaurant (Boulevard being the nicest we've been to).
We stayed next to China Town on our last visit and it was nice, doesn't really take long to see it though. Awesome Italian in Russian Hill too, Ristorante Milano is a great little homemade pasta joint.
It would serve you well to cab it to the Pacific side of town too. Land's End park is a great break from all of the people and the best view of the Golden Gate you'll ever see. It's down Geary. On Geary is the best tequilla bar anywhere. Tommy's Mexican tequilla list, they make fresh squeezed lime juice and agave nectar margaritas that will absolutely make you smile.
Land's End is easy, romantic, and down right unforgettable.

I recommend a Giants game. If you are up early enough for breakfast go to this place called Sears Fine Food. Its damn good. LINK
They give you a token at the end of the meal you put it in a slot machine when paying and you can win discounts and other things including free meal. We didn't win anything though when we ate there.

+1 on Sears Fine Food. I ate there when I went in April.
I also had a sandwich from Ike's Place in the Castro District. It was one of the places on Man vs Food. Only available for pick up.
I also did In N Out Burger in the Wharf area. Can't go wrong with that if you need a quick and cheap meal.

I just returned from San Francisco. Check out Jai Yun. This is a little place on Clay St in China Town. A bit pricey, but very well worth it. It's around $100/head and you get around 20-25 small portions of whatever the chef bought from the local market that day.
Trust me, this place isn't well known but it is fantastic. Might want to grab a couple bottles of good wine before you go.
Enjoy!

perfect timing of this thread. I'll be there soon too!
All the food looks fantastic and I plan on hitting the food out of the park for this trip. I didn't research food for my last trip there and failed miserably.

North Beach (little Italy) is generally a blast.

I second that Land's End is a good dinner and even better view. I really like that they have two restaurants there, one that's very upscale, and another that's nice but not so fancy.
