Mossberg 500 12 gauge, or 870 20 gauge if I get cocky.
Stew, gumbo, breasted and wrapped w/bacon & jalapeno.

I'll buy a case of .12 and a case of .20. Should have the .12 shot up Sat-Sun and shoot .20 labor day and after.
Benelli Nova .12 gauge, Browing Auto 5 light .20
Fried, grilled, gumboed, smothered, pan-seared, baked, and broiled. A dove is about a fine a table fare is you can shoot.

Mossberg or browning `12 gauge, with number 8's low brass. Grill like above or in first gumbo of the season with sausage and shickin.

Anyone know of a good place to go around the NOLA area? I've only been a couple times (around Monroe), but really enjoyed it.
FTR I was using an 870 at the time and grilled the breastbone whole after marinating, salt and pepper to fininsh

browned in butter, finished in gravy. served over homemade "biskits" and washed down with a nice magnum glass of Pinot.

SBE or a 20 gauge single shot HR...old family tradition to take one out.
We are fortunate enough to normally have tons of doves. So usually we sit on a bucket and take turns with the single barrel!
I love em stewed in a gravy, or fried.
On a related note: how many here pick their doves versus yank the breast out. I yank. I know some folks frown on it, but damn we have full limits plus a little lagniappe for 20 people or more.
