We all know that Nowitzki has been the best PF in the universe for about 3-4 years now. And yet in recent years the opinion that Gasol is a better player surfaced ever since Gasol joined a stacked Lakers squad playing next to a top 3 player. Overall around the league most knowledgeable fans still take Dirk, but it's a legitimate debate (Gasol will probably surpass Dirk due to age in 1-2 years).

Now Bosh, who is pretty soft, lacks leadership skills, quit in Toronto, and isn't anywhere close to a franchise player is playing next to the 2 best players in the world.

How overrated is he about to become? Will people start proclaiming him as the best PF in the world (Dirk's indisputable throne)?

Bosh is good, very good... Top 15-20 player, but I have a feeling he is about to become grossly overrated if this Heat team becomes a dynasty.

On another note, despite having the 2 best players in the world, does anyone think that the Lakers can matchup well against this Heat team? Solid wing defenders + a huge frontline. Would rely on Bynum not being a pussy in the playoffs though.

Gasol is better than Dirk, at least in terms of winning in today's league. Dirk is obviously the most versatile PF, but having Gasol equates to more wins in the postseason.

Bosh is neither over or underrated. He's a top 12 or so player with a lot of skill, but some real pussy tendencies.

LA matches up well with Miami, and at this point, I'd definitely, unbiasedly, pick LA

Two diff kinds of players, the best 2 4's in the league IMO. Gasol will never be a number one option. Dirk is a number 1 option almost anywhere he would play. Gasol is a better fit for the Lakers but Dirk is a all-time great. He is a top 5 PF of all-time.

Bosh has alot to show to be mentioned with the other 2.

You don't have to be elite when you're on the same team as two of the top players in the league.

Oh Dirk's career is definitely superior, but he's not a more effective player than Gasol now. Dirk averages more points because of the amount of times he touches the ball. Gasol shots nearly 6% points higher, significantly outrebounds Dirk, is a better defender AND passer. I think Gasol has one of the highest basketball IQ's in the league too.

Dirk is just an extremely versatile scorer. He's a great 3pt, FT, and midrange shooter. When his jumper isn't falling, he's limited.

I'd definitely take Gasol at this point over Dirk, more so because Gasol has elevated his game rather than Dirk regressing.

I don't really think Bosh is overated. He has kind of been an unknown playing in Canada.
I think casual NBA fans will see just how good he is.
He should be even better playing with a more talented lineup.

As far as the Nowitzki/Gasol debate goes, Dirk has led his team much farther than Gasol ever could when he was wasting away in Memphis.
Gasol has always been a really good NBA player but most people never knew because he was on that weak team. He was in the same situation as Garnett playing in Minnesota. He has the inside game Mavs fans wish Dirk had developed.

I watched both Garnett and Gasol lose a ton of regular season and playoff games to Dirk's teams. They were both very frustrated players during those playoff losses. They were also both very good.

Garnett came into the league with a great reputation so he got blamed for never getting Minnesota out of the first round year after year. He did finally get out of the first round one year but he knew he had to get out of Minnesota to win.

Gasol didn't have the same rep but he played well and you could tell he hated seeing Dirk win and be thought of as the best European player in the league. The trade to the Lakers was a Godsend for him. Now he is respected for being the player he is.

Bosh has been in a similar situation himself. I don't think he'll make as big a jump in fan's player ratings as Gasol has but I do think he will play very well with Wade and Lebron.

Ghazi,

I still get all of the emails the Mavs send out to the media. If they send me any crazy stuff I'll try to get it to you. Glad to see you back on the board.

[quote]Gasol is better than Dirk,]

This shite makes me laugh. Gasol could NEVER EVER lead a team......period.

Dirk lead a team to the championship and carried them to series wins vs Spurs,Suns.

Put Dirk on that Lakers team.....and it isnt a 7 game series last year. Gasol is just a lay shooter because Kobe finally decides to pass when triple teamed.

Gasol....nice player....Dirk is a stud. I got ya back Ghazi!
