What makes this year different than the last 5?? Prediction 1st game 5 false starts on Offense,3 offsides on the defense well make that 2 Alem is gone , 3 holding penalties and the usual les miles postgame reply of we'll work on getting better for next week.Only to be repeated througout the year . Bash me all you want but am i wrong?lets go ahead and get a few of your responses out of the way:Your a negatiger. . .That should cover the first two

Now this is one thing that has bothered me. LSU is penalty happy all the time. In 2007 we were like the most penalized team in the nation or the SEC? Can't remember. That shits gotta stop.

There is no reason for me to believe that we will be more disciplined this year. We never have been under Miles, I don't see why that would all of a sudden change.

Could be it's the number 2010, as opposed the previous five years' 2009, 2008, 2007, 2006, 2005? I hope this year's product looks more like 2005-7, and less like 2008-9. But only time and actual games will tell. I'm not holding my breath.

How 'bout last 10? On avg, I'd say it's getting better. Note both coaches 1st yr avg and NC yr avg.

3 new coaches. ones a rb coach i believe , ones a qb coach and i forgot the other one. Yeah this will totally fix our lack of concentration on oline and dline. I will be in atlanta for the first game but if history is any indication then i expect more of the same this year.

Who knows how we will do or be. I always thought that it wasn't just the penalty. It was the situation in which the penalty occurred as in when a false start turns a fourth in one to a fourth in six.

We really don't have much to talk about as the season approaches. I am beginning to understand why near the end of summer practice the players want to go out and hit somebody else. I am beiginning to feel the same way. I'd like for us to be hitting someone other than the other people on the boards.

LSU has been one of the most penalized teams in the SEC since Leslie arrived. Why would that change this season?

I don't think we are the most penalized. It's just that the penalties we do get seem to come on big plays, like 3rd down conversions, big gainers, or even scoring plays. These are drive killers and it must be stopped.

i think our offense being so bad was the culprit which made ANY penalty almost impossible to overcome. 3&2 changing to 3&7 normally wouldn't be a drive killer but our offense just sucked so bad last year it was.

5th in the SEC = penalties were not a problem.

it changed last season. We weren't nearly as penalized last season as in the prior year.
