Josh Downs Years of Eligibility

On my ncaa 2011 game Josh Downs is listed as a redshirt freshman. I remember him playing a lot last year. How did he get a redshirt? Is there some sort of medical redshirt rule that he got?
I am pretty sure my game would be right. Can anyone explain this?

EA has corrected this problem and are accepting exchanges. I would hold onto it though since it will probably be worth more as a "misprint".
