Everyone's posting their new or old favorite LSU motivational videos--here is the first one I ever saw, the original one BEFORE Youtube came around...BEFORE folks made their own...BEFORE everyone had access to MS moviemaker and ESPN video clips--even in its primitive "print-only" format, it still gives me goosebumps. The drum cadence of the Golden Band from TigerLand is SORELY underused at games.

Let's get ready for 2010 and hope for the best.

Yep, the good old days (and I am listening to ZZ Top while posting this, so that tells you something).

My 11 and 14 y/o sons know this drum cadence by heart...it's all about brainwashing.

There will never be an "Earthquake Game II'' because they don't let real fans in anymore unless they shell out $2,000 for tickets (group of 4). Now everybody is corporate, old and golf clappers. Also, the current administration's failure to use the talent properly on offense SUCKS!!!!!!!!!! Can we throw the ball deep (or at least a crossing route) to Terrance Tolliver once per quarter - PLEASE????? If we throw it to him (AND IF he catches ball) once per quarter, he wins the Heisman!!!!!!!!! This opens up a running game coaches.

That cadence you hear is actually 3 different cadences. The first part is called "Bleu Raiders" after the drum and bugle corp that originally played. Bleu Raiders has been around since at least the early 80s, and most Louisiana marching bands play some version of it.

The second parrt is "Blue Bells."

The Third is called "Blue Building" and was written by a former LSU student, Ian Smith.
I'm not really sure if the drumline still plays this same cadence.

It is the same cadence, when they are marching into the stadium. We played Blue Raiders in h.s. when I was on the drumline. It's my favorite cadence of all time.

Yeah, Bleu Raiders is definitely better than that Electric Wheelchair cadence every other band in the nation marches to.

You must have missed the Florida game in 2007. I thought my head was going to explode every time we converted on 4th down and again when they announced USC lost to Stanford. I am pretty sure my ears still bleed from time to time because of that game.

The mood and atmosphere just aren't the same as 10-15 years ago. Shame to say but other stadiums have caught and passed us.
