Did anyone attend the meeting yesterday? How big were the protests outside? I heard a quick snippet about them on 870, but didn't see anything on the nightly news.

I've been listening to Internet feed while doing some desk work last two days. Heard a lot but not all.

Honestly, I've been quite surprised. They have listened to Diamond Offshore, oceaneering, Landrieu, Scalise, etc. Their questions for them weren't antagonistic. Actually some good questions.

Today they had reps from EPA, MMS, and Dept of Int. Their questions for them on drilling mirrored a lot of what they heard from offshore officials and legislators yesterday.

They all states at one time or another that they feel comprehensive restoration will be vital.

At least that's from the parts I heard. Not very left wing 'you guys should stop drilling' as I had feared. Seem to actually be trying to find a balanced solution.

Even asked Int Dept today if some rigs presented their new safety plans and passed a quick inspection if they could begin drilling. Not have to wait for all rigs. Even asked questions why no shallow permits have been issued.

I just hope the administration listens to them and doesn't circumvent their recommendations. Like Salazar did with moratorium.
