Was it because most were hopeful there was something better than what we have had recently?I mean 4 months ago on this board this guy was "The Man"and that lee and jefferson had no chance at beating him out. Well guess what this guy obviously saw that he would be sitting at least 2 more years because he wasn't going to beat them out and asked if he could transfer. I to am tired of the projects that Les seems to bring in lately but you know what it looked like garrett was not good enough to beat them out. I wish him the best but if he wasn't gonna start for another 3 years then i say let Les bring in a quality QB in this class that will be a redshirt freshman when Jefferson, lee are gone

I kinda understand the worry a little because it's a position where depth is questionable and very important to the team but in all honesty, he was never gonna be "the" guy at QB.

Its not what String you are!! Its how you treat people and this situation was handled with "NO CLASS" by LSU and Miles. If my son was a Recruit and was looking at LSU Football he would not be anymore!!!

Because in the SEC thiers a very good chance that your #1 QB can get hurt, and we have all seen how our #2 plays.Get the picture. Not to mention the future of the program. The more depth you have the better you are.

It's not that he wasn't good enough to beat them out like I keep tellin people, it's that he wasn't gonna see playing field anytime soon, and he knew that, not with Miles talkin only about Jefferson and Lee at this point. Miles wasted 2 years of this kids life when he could have been playin at MSU.

I think its because many LSU fans are suspect of Les Miles' ability to evaluate players and put his best team on the field. The kid may have been listed as third string but he may very well had been the superior of Jefferson or Lee. Time will tell.

One thing is for certain. If he does transfer to MSU Miles will no longer be in Baton Rouge when he returns to QB the Buldogs in TS.

It's very simple.
Some are upset over how it was handled.
Most are upset that now if Z. Lee takes baseball money and leaves, we are left with two scholarship qbs on the roster and noone to groom to be the starter in two years.

I am not that upset.

Bucky lets his posting get ahead of his mental capacity Rocket. He posts before he thinks more often than not.

ideally you want a progression at the QB position, you want to groom incoming QB's so that they will be ready by their 3rd year in the program. Competing with an incumbent junior shouldn't even be on a freshman QB's radar screen. The bottom line is Garrett has good physical skills and was a good recruit...unfortunately it appears he didn't have the work ethic or attitude to continue progressing. This isn't out of the ordinary, it happens to players at every program, every year..

depth wise it could hurt... but dont worry about it...

i honestly think, one of our QB's Lee or Jefferson, will step up this year.

We will have a running game this year which will take alot of pressure off the QB.

if we had any kind of defense two years ago, Lee would have still thrown picks, but he also scored a good amount of points. Our D couldnt stop West Monroe that year.
