#27 to #101 is a huge difference.
Look, I'm not trying to hate on the guy, but he's only D1 offers were from Northwestern State and ULM.
And I'm tracking with you - that was the calculus at the time they were recruited. However, if Garrett wasn't/isn't going to be the guy, why not let the hardworking walk-on, who might be able to contribute down the line situationally step in, and cut loose a scholarship player who has different needs.
And likewise, I don't want to hate on Garrett, but it is tough to get cut without playing or having off-the field "encounters" with law enforcement personnel.
