re: Chris Garrett leaving the football team

Thanks for finding the most salient post. I thought that was well written and thought out. At first I was sorry to see Garrett go because of I what I hoped he was - a top flight SEC-caliber QB in waiting. It sounds like he was no where close to that. Several months ago when I heard the rumor that he told the coaches he wasn't ready to step up I was concerned he was never going to be the guy. Good luck to him. Let's hope Z. Lee is the real deal and he stays. We definitely need to recruit QBs hard, though. I wish we would have offered the kid from Catholic. At worst he would be an adequate stop-gap. At best he could be another Applewhite. For the next two years we need to be able to rely on JJ and JLee. Hopefully they continue to improve.
