He could have made it less of what it is currently.

the question would be why didn't he just annouce it like a normal superstar (wade, bosh).

instead he is fueling his ego.

I dont blame him for the 1 hour special. I'm just tired of the media constantly talking about it. It seems that Lebron gets blamed for stuff (hype) that he has no control over

If he wanted to donate to charity so badly why didn't he just do it, he's got the money.

Are you serious? The guy has every ability of cancelling the 1 hr special and just have the team he chooses release the info. He never had to have a special, he never had to make it so dramatic, and its all unnecessary. MJ sent a fax saying "I'm back"

I agree, the 1 hour special is overdoing it a little. But the 1 hour special is just 1 hour. Im talking about the constant 24 hour coverage ESPN is giving to him. Lebron cutting his grass would be a huge story to them & thats not his fault

People keep saying he has no control over this.

He is arguably one of the most important people in basketball, and even all of sports. Stop making excuses for him.

I've said this forever regarding all sports figures and I get called out for it. They get praised for shite like this and for all their charitable works that they are forced to do.

You are very naive.

Lebron is not going to go to the heat, and is turning this into an saga or pushing their face in a pile of shite. This free agency conduct has left me with a terrible taste in my mouth, and one that will continue with seasons to come. He needs to announce it like a basketball player, not a person from an mtv reality show. Kevin D announced his on his twitter and that was that

That's where you are missing the boat. Charity events are about philanthropy and the less fortunate.

This event has nothing to do with kids... but it has everything to do with Prince James and he and his entourage's egos.
