I agree with the OP except that Italy gets literally crucified for it like no other team by announcers (" in Italy they call it being sly while in England we call it cheating" -- "disgrace to the game" etc ect) and fans of every other team in the world -- ironically even fans of Spain and South American teams who flop just as badly as the Italians.

I guess Jozy didn't learn quickly enough in Villareal or Xerez, did he? Done a damn good job in the WC, hasn't he?

I don't know which calls you guys have been hearing. Ian Darke did the first Portugal game, and every time Ronaldo flopped he commented negatively upon it. He even said, there's Ronaldo on the floor again, but we've come to expect that."
He was also astounded by Marco Estrada's red and only stopped short of totally trashing Fernando Torres because he tripped over his own damn feet. Both Ian Darke and Efan Ekoku were really upset at that call.
I'm watching it now on DVR, but was listening live on Futbol de Primero and Andres Cantor was FUUUUUUUUUURIOUS over that second yellow card. Very angry, that he got into it with Javier Castrili, told him he was wrong, that it was undeserved. He was PISSED, and Argentines (Cantor) don't have much love for Chile. I was shocked at how much he got into it.
In fact he saw the "foul" even BEFORE he called the goal. The goal almost caught him by surprise.
