Let Crowton coach!!!!

Our offense would be fine,with the qb also good to go, all the coach's need to get on the same page(ole miss)..let gary call the plays with no interference from miles, he is a good oc, at ore.,byu,la.tech he let shite fly!!!not to scared to call anything...

Miles was not calling the plays last year...he gave free reign to Crowton. It was stated in interviews and was discussed ad nauseum last season on this board. Many here even stated that Miles should completely take over the offensive playcalling.
I'm not a Crowton hater...i was extremely pissed after the Penn State game but ive lightened up on him some. Im hoping Crowton gets back to his '07 form.

In certain contexts, Crowton is a fantastic OC. But '09 seemed to expose a lot of his weaknesses.
Hard to place all the blame on him though. Our O never had a reliable "home base" all of '09. Our OL stunk so our running game slogged, we couldn't run an option play, and our QB wasn't sharp - JJ didn't always play heads up. With that against him there's only so much one can do.
Still don't understand the non-use of RS and abandoning the simple and effective for the sensational and risky (compare KW running in the 1st half against OM vs the # of carries in the 2nd half before his injury).

Yes yes, GC did well to gain many yards and score a bunch of points. But with the competition of the opponents while at those schools they may have been playing against WAC and Pac10/12 defenses. oh wait. It is a bit more difficult to get it done against the speed of the SEC defenses. With that said, I hope we have a much improved year on offense.
