pass yards given up: 2384 yds, ranked 17th (LSU played 1 more game in 2007 than 2009)
Rush yards given up: 1340 yds, ranked 18 (also 1 extra game than in 2009)
Interceptions: 23, ranked 5th
sacks: 40, ranked 18th

2009:
Total defense: 327 ypg, ranked: 28th
scoring defense: 16 ppg, ranked 12th
pass yards given up: 2309, ranked 27th(one less game than 2007)
Rush yards given up: 1610, ranked 42nd (one less game)
interception: 13, ranked 41st
sacks: 21, ranked 82nd

As you can see, 2007 defense was better in every statistical category except points per game.
