Texas too smart for the SEC? Not really, just too scared.

First of all, we know it is BS that UT thinks the academics of the SEC are sub-par....the just don't want to get their arse beat.

The APRs just came out and UT didn't do too well....in fact, 6 SEC teams placed better than UT did (53rd in the country).

SO THEY'D FINISH IN THE MIDDLE OF THE PACK of the SEC behind Bama, LSU, UF, UGA, UK, and of course, Vandy.

In fact, they didn't finish tops in their conference.

Again, Texas (as dumb as they are in the APR...obviously) is smart when it comes to weak conferences and wins. They don't want to get slapped around and lose 3 games a year....good bye championship.

SOrry but I just wanted to bash UT on the Rant. This has to do with how vag-like they are when it comes to a real challenge.

Yes, I understand that there is an expansion board. THank you.

They aren't scared at all. All they want is $$ and power. They would get less money in the sec right now and less power

....and less wins.

I understand what you are saying.

But don't use academics as a front. That was pathetic....now they have less respect.

ATM showed what kind of balls they had.

bottom line Texas and Oklahoma play each other and for the most part that's it. Texas didn't want a schedule that looked like at LSU at Georgia Alabama, Auburn, I don't care what they say they didn't want to go there.

I really don't care if Texas A&M and Texas think they have higher academic standards than the SEC. They are just scared to play us and trying to make a financial grab.

I seriously doubt they'd want an SEC schedule over a Big 12 schedule.

Couldn't agree more. Each university has their academic strengths as well as weaknesses, so that deal is pretty much horseshite. I have trained doctoral interns from podunk schools who did outstanding, as well as some from "presigious" schools who wound up underachieving.

The real truth is that Texas would not be in the driver's seat in the SEC, and would not benefit from having to play an SEC schedule. They may do good for a year or two, but as soon as everyone else had their number, they would fall back into the pack.

They made the best deal they could, getting more money, and getting to stay on their throne in Texas.

Personally, I like the SEC as it is.
