What this means is Texas creates its own orbit. We are the ultimate trump card, and a conference with Texas in it has a better foundation than any other.

Vanity makes even the most prideful delusional where eventually they wake up from a nightmare drenched in self loathing.

meanwhile, the SEC schools are raking in money and holding up trophies.
Texas will destroy that conference again a couple of years from now. There elitism has no bounds. They better hope the other schools don't revolt over an uneven TV contract again.

Delusional. He's too stupid to realize what happened. A&M threatened to bolt to the SEC and Texas folded like a cheap tent.

The most important part, from a fans perspective. Texans have long been a very hauty lot, they overestimate their value immensly.

We're fricked. tu too. This conference is the SWC part 2. NO ONE will watch this crap. I'm ashamed and I'd like to punch our university president in the face.
Big fan of the SEC now, you have something special don't give it up.

auto BCS bid is still intact. Win the conf. plus play respectable non-conf schedule = better than 50/50 chance of playing for MNC
I guess they are assuming that winning the conference ALSO means going undefeated? No way they have a 50/50 chance of playing for a NC with a loss in that conference......unless it is a close loss to a 1 loss Oklahoma team and they are dominating in most of their other games. Pretty arrogant that they can think this after Nebraska leaving has basically made this conference another Pac-10. We saw home many NC games USC got into with one loss.

The problem with Texas jumping to the Big 10 is that Texas’ goal can’t be reduced to finding a home in which it neatly fits. You only concede your advantages when it’s more profitable for you to do so, and here, Texas’ incentive is to insulate itself from egalitarian relationships. The status quo is for Texas to remain the undisputed king of an extremely (almost unfairly) rich bloc of territory. And it remains in our interest to stay out of — and thereby forego the benefits of — a stronger, superior confederation, when doing so means weakening that base position in the home territory.
Burnt Orange Nation's take.
Wow. And they wonder why people hate them. Rephrased: "we are a bunch of sissies and want an easy conference."

It's a garbage conference. Top heavy and mediocre throughout. I never gave Texas much thought before this fiasco but they give me a new team to hate now.
