Loss of the Big X(II) Championship Game

So with the announcement that the Texas & Oklahoma schools are staying put in a 10-team Big XII, they can't hold an annual championship game anymore come 2011 (according to NCAA rules). So unless they invite 2 schools in, Jerry Jones gets fricked since the Big XII championship game was set to be played in the new Cowboys Stadium through 2013.

NCAA rules require your conference to have 12 teams in order for you to have a conference championship game.

They'll pick up some teams from another conference. There's a lot of schools that would love to join a major conference.

Of course, this is assuming that the rumors of the Big XII inviting BYU and Air Force are false.

Thanks, y'all. Did not know this, although I guess I should have known.
BTW, Jerry said this a.m. that he'd find another game to hold at Jerry World if the Big XII game wasn't there for some reason.
