He's gonna turn 18 a month after graduating high school, he's a couple months young but not by a lot.

It's not "jibberish"; it's a New Orleans colloquialism. In New Orleans, you don't "turn" 18; you "make" 18. You don't "get" groceries; you "make" groceries. It stems from an early English translation of the French verb faire meaning "to do" or "to make." If you weren't a damn yankee maybe you'd have the desire to know a little more about Louisiana culture.
