Here are the television households of the top 100 markets that the following teams would bring to the SEC.

Texas A&M - Dallas (5), Houston (10), Austin (48), Harlingen (87) and Waco (89). Total television households - 6,040,320.

Virginia Tech - Washington, DC (9), Norfolk (43), Richmond (58) Ronoake (67). Total television households - 4,060,090.

N.C. State / UNC - Charlotte (24), Raleigh (26) and Greensboro (46). Total television households - 2,947,110.

Mizzou - St. Louis (21), Kansas City (32) and Springfield (74). Total television households - 2,613,550.

Bringing in Texas A&M and VT would add 10,100,410 new television households. Bringing in four of the five teams would add 15,661,070.

The SEC might rule the NCAA football world right now, but I am thinking of five and 10 years down the line. I say we should expand now.

surprised Houston is only # 10. Would have thought closer to # 5 or 6.

Guess those numbers don't include all the illegals!

You omitted San Antonio, TX (37).

As for those numbers not including illegal aliens, Harlingen, TX sitting @ 87 destroys that theory.

This market expansion does not work the same way for the SEC on ESPN than the Big Ten Network. Adding A&M isnt going to add enough revenue to divide the product like that. The SEC needs another team thatll bring big time games (like Texas). But that probably won't happen.
