With all this talk of adding VT why not add WVU to the SEC. Just as strong in football as VT and stronger than VT in basketball.

The DC market isn't a given if VT is added. You still have Maryland and UVA if the hoos are good. You also have an insane amount of WVU and Penn State fans. Both campuses are actually close to DC than VT is.

WVU is a giant out of state school with many students and alumni from DC/Bmore,Philly, Pittsburgh and NY/NJ as with most WVU grads/fans from WV bolt out of the state the first chance they get. WVU has always get good ratings esp on the east coast and gets better ratings than VT.

I have been to Morgantown to campaign in political elections.

It is amazingly cold. Its both north and at altitude.

Impossible to drive to from the south, therefore hard to support SEC teams.

Its hundreds of miles of mountain roads from the south.

No. Bad idea.

WVU was one of 14 self-supporting athletic departments in the nation and one of only four that finished the school year in the black

Also have a very big following

quote:

stadium

is 60K same as Ole Miss bigger than Miss State and Vandy and expansion is most likely coming soon and would happen asap if invited to the SEC. VT was about the same size until its recent add ons

fans

would fit in just fine with the SEC

quote:

prestige

More total wins and BCS wins than VT

program

Whats wrong with the program

your saying that with nothing to back it up

and saying VT has better fans is an absolute joke. Couldn't even sell out the orange bowl

yes VT's are but does the SEC really care about that

WVU is in a tough spot, their requirements to get in are lower b/c their mission is to give every WV high school grad a chance an opportunity at high education at a cheap price which is good for a poor state, and they off set the cost by letting out of state kids in as long as they have a pulse
