Last year i sold my business in Mississippi and moved to Perdido Key to retire and enjoy the beach. This was our plan from the start to do this as we have always enjoyed the beautiful beaches and the water. We live 2 minutes from Perdido Bay and 10 minutes from the gulf.
Now this happesns, don't really know what to do or what to think. Our property value's just fell 40% in a month. could not sell and move if we wanted to. Really sad to see the response of BP and our Goverment. Doesn't seem anyone cares.
I have lost all faith on our Goverment.
What the hell has happened to our country.?

Really fell bad for you and the MANY others that have done the exact same thing. We own a condo in Orange Beach so I do understand your frustrations.

My family owns a place in the Mirabella in Perdido right on the beach. It is a shame for anyone involved.

Once the rig gets taken care of and the beaches get cleaned up, your property values will go back up.

What has happened?

The answer is we started putting all of our faith in government. Then we handed over all our decision making as well.

I don't know that it's the government's fault for your trouble. Your frustration should be directed toward BP.
