Can I get info on Bibona and Cole..........

What pitches do they throw and which one's are more effective. How hard they throw.

I don't remember Bibona throwing more than 90-92, just crafty.
Cole from all reports throws in the 95-96 range, but can get it up to 98 or 99. He's a little wild though.
Someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

Personally, i'm more worried about Bibona, we see fastballs all the time in practice with Ranaudo and Bourgeois, now 98 is definitely not 93 or 94, but these kids grow up hitting fastballs.

Not so much. He's been out for weeks nursing a rib injury. I would not expect him to be real sharp. We may clobber him.

We do seem to hit them better this year though......maybe because we have more right handed bats. Dean and Landry are the only 2 I can think of that arent, and Dean can hit lefties

he seems to struggle with good ones, are at least when they come in in a relief effort and he is at the plate with runners on base; his approach against them has been much better this year though. Also Bibona doesnt throw hard, so that'll help him too

It was posted in another thread that Cole walks a ton of people and against better competition he seemed to have short outings. I think getting to their pen is crucial.

Cole will sit at 95-96 all game with his two-seamer that has pretty good tail to it. When he wants it, he has 99 and has it late in the game. He's touched 98-99 after 100 pitches this season so it's always there when he needs it.
His slider has great break to it and he throws it hard so it's really tough to pick up. He gets guys waving at that all day. His change up has come a long ways this year and while not something he'll throw more than 15-20 times in a game, it is an effective pitch.
Cole's issue is two things. 1) He can get wild, either walking guys or falling behind in the count. 2) His offspeed pitches are tough to hit, but he doesn't really have a "get me over" breaking ball so if you guys are picking up the fastball, you won't go chasing after his offspeed pitches. It's pretty rare for teams to pick up the fastball though.

Was Bibona the one that got lit up in the 9th a couple years ago? Or was he the first game starter that shut us down?
