What kind of crowd should we expect to have there?

Perfect. Apparently their stadium has a max capacity of 1,500, so we should overflow it with purple and gold.

Many Tiger faithful in Southern California will be there.

My guess is we'll have a shite ton of people there, although this may be truly due to the force of the "Tiger Nation." This LA assignment seemed pretty out of left field and is not exactly and easy drive which I bet will prevent a number of Louisiana fans from coming that may have gone had it been in a neighboring state. Nonetheless, there are a ton of Tigers in LA and obviously this is a rare occurrence. Especially if their stadium has 1.5K, it could be a home game for the Tigers!

The big factor will be how many can make the trip from Lousisiana. I know we've got a ton down in Southern CA already, but if we can get a few thousand from our home state it will really bolster the crowd! I can't wait to make the trip!

I would soil my pants if I could see the Lakers and Tigers in the same weekend.

I will be there!! but then again, I live just down the road a bit. And I am guessing the Tiger fans will easily be the largest part of the crowd. Also, note that while the stadium seats 1,250, it holds more based on standing room only type seating though the number isn't specified:

Set along trees in a natural environment, Jackie Robinson Stadium can host as many as 1,250 fans in stadium-style seats, installed prior to the 2006 season. It can also accommodate many more on grass slopes above each dugout and in the terrace area beyond center field.

It will be interesting to see how many pack the stadium. I've regularly attended the regionals at Fullerton and last year at UC Irvine and have always been able to get tickets pretty easy, even walking up before the games. I am betting the LSU games will be a tougher get just because the LSU fans take baseball so much more serious than others in the area.

The toughest tickets will be the LSU games. The phone calls/e-mails I've gotten this morning about getting tickets is close to what I got when we were anticipating playing in the Rose Bowl a few years ago.

This is UCLA's home field. Not a lot of tickets to be had for any team's fans.

Nevertheless, the games happen 20 min from home, so I'll be there w/ a crowd.

You work in a ticket office or something? Is there really that much interest?

Replublic Gold, the UCLA website doesn't specify but I'd guess that would be the case.

quote:

Tickets to NCAA Regional games at Jackie Robinson Stadium will go on sale Tuesday at 10 a.m. Fans will be able to purchase tickets through UCLA's Central Ticket Office (310-825-2101) or online via Ticketmaster. Beginning Tuesday, fans may only purchase All-Session Reserved ($80 adult/$65 student) or All-Session General Admission ($55 adult/$40 student) packages. Single-game tickets will not be available until Friday. Reserved single-game tickets will cost $15 for adults and $12 for students. General admission single-game tickets will cost $10 for adults and $8 for students.

Excellent! Let's pack the place. I know I'll be flying up there from B.R.
