Posted on 5/28/10 at 2:25 pm to TigerFred

Posted on 5/28/10 at 2:25 pm to TigerFred
No, he said that he has been in charge since the beginning. He just decided to mention it, for the first time, after the top kill plan seemed like it was going to work.

Are these folks MORE expert than anyone BP has? Why are we holding them in the wings, if so?

what the hell they're gonna do.
"all right, bp, we are taking over. btw, can we borrow your equipment since we don't have any of our own. oh, and if you don't mind, can we borrow your personell also?"

It was pretty much the gist of what I got him saying. He even dropped some dude's name that was the "expert" he had in mind.

He basically said that Dr Steven Chu secretary of Energy is in charge and is prepared with a team of the worlds best scientists and the industries leading experts to move on to the next phase of stopping the well flow if the Top Kill didn't work.
That is not a quote it is what I can remember from what he said. Now based on what he said who is in charge?
From a CNN article LINK

Neither Obama nor Coast Guard Adm. Thad Allen, who is leading the government's response to the oil spill, appeared to be aware of the break when they addressed reporters at separate news conferences Thursday.
A White House official told CNN that people inside the White House knew about the temporary halt in the "top kill," but it wasn't clear if Obama was aware of it.

Do you care to respond or would you rather be known as the new rex?

Posted on 5/28/10 at 2:56 pm to LSU77
it is obvious BP cannt do shite about it either
The only thing they can do is drill the relief well
Give someone else a shot
MSNBC:
Top experts ready to intervene if BP's 'top kill' attempt doesn't stop leak, president says"

And do what ? They gonna do this all buy themselves? I don't want to gov'mt any where near this.
Posted on 5/28/10 at 2:59 pm to Northwestern tiger
I'm sure all of the "top experts" in the oil field are currently being employed by BP.
