A friend told me he heard Skip speak at some function and he was talking about this incident and said the Since the game scheduled for Sunday was rained out and since LSU was supposed to start a regional the following Thursday he didn't want to play so he and Ron polk talked and agreed to cancel the game and be co-champs.However the SEC didn't want that b/c of revenue so Skip told SEC he had players with the flu and LSU was going to forfeit and then Ron said MS was gonna forfeit too so the SEC acquiesed and went with co-champs.Don't know if this is true but that's what my friend said.
