Looks like most rigs are going to jump into completion mode until this 6 month shite is over.

Had a poster yesterday say they'd bumped up 3 completions, and they can't get permitted...let me find the thread.
ETA:
Scarface was the poster. I was a little off on what he said before I edited. He didn't say they were pulled, or can't get permits, only that it "may" happen. My bad.
ETA2: One more time because I'm dumb, and my mind is on getting out of here in a few hours for a round of golf.
This was the post I originally was talking about.
Again, he didn't say that it was a done deal that they can't get the permits. So, ignore this.

Just recieved word that we may be TAing the well were presently on for 6 months. We're doing a smart well completion and haven't even frac'd the lower zone. It's not just affecting drilling.

That's what we're distressed about at work. Two weeks ago MMS told us we'd still be able to do sidetracks and completions (basically we could still work on any well where intermidiate casing had been set). So we moved three completions up on the schedule. Now it's looking like we won't be able to do anything for awhile.

It's not a done deal at all. We are hoping for better clarification today.

We've got some jobs having the same issues. I was trying to go by memory on what you said yesterday, and I knew that was my mistake...my memory sucks.
If ya got time, post an update on the clarifications. I'll be on the golf course in 3 hours and probably won't be back here until late tonight.

I'm hearing MMS is going to shut things down on deep water projects, we should know for sure today.

It's still going to cost some people their jobs

I should have been more clear. The wells being drilled as we speak will be shut down, they will not be allowed to finish.

I wonder what the protocol will be for this. Surely the wells be allowed to reach their next designed casing point before suspending drilling but with this administration there is no telling.

Thanks, I think we all understood that yesterday when the pres gave his news conference.
You you have any other late breaking news?
