Its a swing state with a lot of electoral votes. He needs it. He can ignore LA and it doesn't matter but he can't ignore Florida.

The "residual effects" won't be seen a year from now. Why should he worry?

Nah, he will wave the magic wand and throw out the special dust and get this crap cleaned up right away.

I said that 3 weeks ago when I assumed they wouldn't be running around like a chicken with its head cut off trying to shut off the well. I assumed wrong.

I guess the federal government is needed after all. It is amazing the want for government help from those who despise it so much!

Well, since this happened in federal waters and was in some way part of an industry that the feds keep tabs on, yeah they should be involved in some way.

I am totally for the feds being heavily involved in the process, I am amazed by the irony of the positions of anti-government crowd.

Not sure what the feds could do that BP couldn't; NBC Nightly News had the CEO or former CEO of Shell on tonight and he basically said BP is doing everything that could possibly be done at this point.

Ugh No he said the best and brightest are workin on it. Also said that a spill in the water in Saudi Arabia which was much larger than this one. Super Tankers were used to suck up oil and water. It worked and that it should be considered for use here.
It wasnt and has not. Why?

Of course he said that. The oil folk have to stick together. They know the feds are going to give it to each and every one of them in the arse when this is over. This isn't just bad for BP, its bad for the whole industry.
