Yes it is very sad to see animals covered in oil. That, our wetlands and our seafood will be okay. Let's not forget about the families of the 11 men that will never be okay.
Please lests not get all caught up in the pictures and media propaganda, everything will be okay. The people of South La went through and survived Katrina, I'm pretty sure we can find a way to get through this.

this is much worse to the ecosystem then any hurricane.
and that ecosystem is what a good portion of the people around the gulf survive off of.

This is very sad, but some of the comments made me laugh.

You do realize that fish can swim, right? Yes some birds, turtles and oysters will suffer, but fish and shrimp can swim away.

Usually I would agree, but it has been over a fricking month and oil is still fricking leaking! If it's getting into Barrataria Bay, it's getting pretty bad.

We have a bunch of doom and gloom oil spill mongers on here. My guess is it's the people who have never been south of Hwy 90.

we left fourchon saturday and went to ship shoal and didnt see a drop of oil
i can PROMISE you 100% on my life that almost everything being reported is untrue, lies, and made up when it comes to "details"

I had 3 separate groups of buddies go to Barataria this weekend and take videos and pics. Guess how many dead fish they saw? 0. Let's wait and see before we write the whole coast off as a dead zone.
They're canceling rodeos because people don't want to run their boats in that shite.

You're right. Oil getting into Barataria isn't all that bad
My dad fished Barataria all weekend until they closed it. Yes it's bad, but shite man, it'll be okay.

I guess they're cancelling all the rodeos just because they didn't feel like having them.
There are many reasons why the rodeos are being cancelled, they need the docks and launches to use as staging areas, people are working 24/7 to fight this spill, no one has time to put on a rodeo right now and the uncertianty of what area NOAA and DWF will close and when.
There is only a small % of the coast that has actually been hit with the oil.

You didn't give me a chance to guess.

Yep, and everyone down there is just O-T rich, so all of those mom and pop businesses didn't need the money anyway.
I can't believe some of these folks are still saying "it's not that bad". I am sure the marsh grass dying away and leading to more coastal erosion is no big deal either.
When you think about how big the fishing/shrimping industry is to this state, you really can't take anything that is going on too lightly.

Bunch of idiots on here must work for BP, or are just plain stupid.
Posted on 5/24/10 at 1:51 pm to jeffsdad
I'd say most of yall are just stoopid

Rather ironic coming from the king of the idiots

I hope you're right and it doesn't get any worse. I'm just not going to believe everyone on here about how it's not bad and the media is overplaying it. A month ago on here, some people were saying, "Don't listen to the media. They almost have the BOP closed."
