Because Louisiana has a tendency of waiting till the last second to do stuff.

Weve been waiting on approval from the corps. Basically waiting on the promise to pay.

We are moving ahead without it.

Jindaly requested rock barriers larger stones or gravel as that means there would be no dredging. BP refused to pay because it was too expensive. Means a ton of barges coming down the Mississippi River is a lot of money. BP agreed to sand dredging to make sand damns. However dredging is involved and there is some enivironmental impacts which the army core is dragging their feet on.

Regardless of the oil being spilled or not

There should have been a "Great Wall of Louisiana" dredged up many years ago to protect our marshes

Not exactly. They dont know what the impacts will be and want to do studies. Studies which the corp usually takes years to do.

Initially at a meeting they agreed to it so im not sure what happened between 3 week ago and today(or friday just past)
