the only sign of oil was in Lake Raccourci and a faint smell of sulfur in the air before dawn. we didn't see many other boats out there today. most of the shrimpers were docked. plenty of fish to go around though. we limited on reds and specs. i was trying out my new casting net and caught a sheepshead of all things. i may have been doing it wrong

good trip though. i'm surprised more people weren't fishing the marshes

Good to hear sloppy Joe, my home fishing area, Delacroix, is closed indefinitely, I desperately need to learn some other marsh areas, i haven't hauled in some reds and specs in about 3 months.

Trout slaying grounds to say the least. New penny gulps around the islands.

we did especially well fishing ponds off the main channel heading south from Leeville. oyster or grass beds around small islands of reeds were producing the most. we didn't get anything around any structures.

ETA: we only had to throw one spec back for being undersized but even it was 11 1/2 inches. i've never seen that.
