Met a guy from Cordova, Alaska last year which is not far from where the Valdez spill occurred. He said the fishing, crabs, and seafood has never returned to the area. That area is very similar to south Louisiana in the fact that many people's jobs and lively hood depended on the seafood industry commercial and recreation wise. This guy said the most people fished all summer and lived on what they caught during th winter months.
I fear the oyster beds, shrimping, and fishing in South La will never be the same. I am pro oil as anyone but this cleaning up maybe easier said than done.

That's exactly what will happen to the gulf coast. You can't clean this shite up. Our great grea grandkids might experience how we knew the Gulf Coast to be, but don't count on it.
