Since the news seems to have forgotten that 11 men lost their lives and that the damn birds and ppl not being able to fish have become more important I would just like to remind everyone to keep that in mind. We need to be asking what should be done to keep these deaths from happening again then wrry about the environmental damages after.

And from reports of the last day on the rig it looks like BP put profit over safety and it led to their demise. Are there grounds for criminal prosecution? Don't know?

No nationally televised memorial service either. Shows what America cares about a few coonass/redneck oil workers.

11 good men with families died. That the real damn tradgedy here.

I believe that when you go to work off shore, that you are risking your life in one way or the other. If not by blow out, by flying out there to the rig. I think thats why wages are a little higher out there. But you are right, people did lose life, I hope they, family are compensated well.
