It's funny the differece a year can make as no one was complaining last year that I can recall.
We sure can be a fickle fanbase at times.
And it he were to leave what makes you so sure that who we get to replace him would be any better.

i dunno, maybe bc we are LSU? i think we can afford to hire a pitching coach who actually has a background as a pitching coach (not just one of CPM's old coaching buddies)

If I was looking to cash in on my LSU success with a head coaching position it wouldn't be in the Big 10. Grewe already knows the limitations of that conference despite the NCAA's attempts to make it more competitive.

True, but if he wants to go back to the Midwest (he's from Michigan and his wife is from Indiana) then this makes sense. But then again he could have stayed at Michigan State. Maybe he's discovered that he'd be happier being a head coach in the big ten versus the SEC or another baseball power conference.
You figure the expectations aren't that high and if you run a clean program with reasonable measures of success you can do well at Ohio State or another big ten school. Minnesota is the historical baseball power in the big ten and the expectations are not that high for the gophers. If you compete for the big ten title and make an occasional appearance in the CWS then you are successful.

Ohio state is a regular in the regionals so it's not the worst job

this is what I think is happening..
Grewe saw coming to LSU as a possible springboard to a HC position in the SEC or at a better baseball school then Michigan State. After this years putrid performance by the pitching staff CPM knows he's gotta make a change. mentions to Grewe that he may wanna start looking elsewhere for a job next yr (ala Miles/MalVetto)
