If you were an big LSU fan all your young life and a hella ball player coming out of high school but for some reason LSU didn't want you.
Knowing your temperment, would you.......
A. Walk on at LSU
B. Sign with a local lame directional college
c. Sign with another major conference and move
d. Sign with an SEC school and look 4 payback

Good question. I think it depends on your goals, your drive and how much talent you really have.
If I believed I could make the team, and I was hell bent on being a Tiger, I'd go for it.
Or, going to a directional school on scholarship.... that might be a good deal too: free education, playing time, etc.

If I'd get a scholarship for football at any school I'll go there. I'd still have my LSU pride but getting a free education is very important.

Depends if you are good enough to play sec calibur football....LSU might have been overloaded in the players position....player might not be as good as he thinks he is....

I would assess every factor...look at playing time etc. then i'd take tours to every school i could. Heck i'd go to Oregon just for the unis

It depends...
If you were THAT good, you would have been offered an LSU scholarship, if they had a need at that position (or one similar). They look at who comes to camp, what they can give back. This isn't about patting someone on the back for being a great fan since childhood.
If I got an offer at another D1 school - go there!
If I got an offer at another school - go there if you can meet your educational desires. Face it, chances of going pro are very slim.
If neither meet your goals, WALK ON! There have been great walk on players that did make it to the pro level. One real disadvantage of walking on at LSU, I don't see many of them playing. LSU could do much better at that. If you have a kid doing really well at practice, you should give him a shot in the game at some point.

If you get a scholly, go where you can get an education. If you don't get a scholly, you walk on to lsu

it depends.
if my family needs the financial help, I go for the scholarship at the school whose academics are most like my abilities, where I could actually get a scholarship, starting from McNeese and going on up to Vanderbilt. I am presuming the issue is with my playing ability, so if I was considering LSU, I could get a scholarship to Vandy, say I am a 3 star with a 29 on my ACT. If my ACT is down in the low 20's, McNeese's ranch has the best food in the universe. A kid could do worse. And McNeese would probably be in the AA playoffs, which is fun.
If my family has money, I would walk on to LSU.

Ask Taylor Dugas who plays baseball for Alabama. I bet the Tigers wish they had him on the team now!

Definitely choice "D."

If you are a 3 star with a 29 on your ACT, you would get admitted to Vanderbilt (probably) and a scholarship without having to transfer.

e. Sign with the best school that offers, get a good education, and forget about LSU. Looking for payback is a distraction that will cause problems for the person who dwells on it.

If I had the talent to play anywhere in the country, my choices would be LSU, Miami, USC, or Florida. Would like to think I would choose LSU, but as an 18 year old kid, who knows?
Out of the answers listed...C or D.

Makes sense to me. If LSU didn't offer, it would come down to best combination of athletics and academics. Stanford would be a great option, or Vanderbilt.

Would have signed with Houston so I could have been the reason Dinardo was fired. Screw him for passing on me.

this actually happened to me. I got pissed and didn't root for LSU for a year or two. Quickly realized that the reason I wasn't treated like a god on the LSU campus was because, well, I sucked. I came crawling back, of course.
