SUPER still a possibility...

Please understand that this analysis comes with a big caveat that the Tiger pitching staff will step up. After analyzing the remaining SEC schedule, if the Tigers go 2-1 against Vandy and KY, and sweep MSU at home, as well as taking both OOC games, that will put us at 41-15 (18-12) and probably tied for 4th place heading into SEC tourney. Our RPI will move from 19 to just outside the Top 10. Then, it all comes down to the SEC tourney - winning the tourney will move our RPI into Top 10, and this coupled with our tradition and momentum would get us the #8 national seed.
Our Tigers have done these things on countless occasions, so I feel it an happen again. Hold the rope.

We can always use some positive thinking here in this porta-potty of negativism.

To get a top 8 seed, we would have to win all of our remaining regular season games and win the SEC tourney.

how many of us thought after we dropped the opening tourney game to Vandy last year we would come back and win it all? Probably not many of us honestly. I had hope, but couldn't say book it. If AR can't come back, I say lets go back to what was working. Ross on Friday, Bougeois on Saturday and Rittner on Sunday. You can have Matulis come in for relief of Ross or Bourgeois and have the rest of the pitchers to come in to relieve, Cotton, Lazusso, Bert, Moorman, Alsup, Reid, etc.

that's the beauty of our team history... we come back when we least expect it. i still think we have a shot, but then again... i tend to see the world through my purple and gold glasses.

Anything's possible in Life...therefore anything's possible in Baseball.
The question in this case is does LSU have the pitching depth to win either the SEC Tourney or a Regional coming out of a LOSER's bracket? That is a very real probability to consider. Stranger things have happen, but realistically thinking, I don't see it. However, I always carry a pair of P&G glasses...

I agree that we've fallen too far to make up enough ground to get a top 8 even if we win the tourney. There are presently 5 SEC teams ahead of us in RPI. If we finish 4th or 5th in the SEC this year, at least 2 of these teams are gonna have higher rankings and RPI than LSU and will be more deserving of a top 8 IMO.
