I have a Lodge porcelain-covered cast iron dutch oven that I love, but I need a full set of cookware. How does the Rachel Ray set at Home Depot hold up?

I don't have the deep pockets for Le Creuset, and I'm getting a new stove very soon...probably a smooth-top. Don't have gas.

Knives may soon follow. Don't really want Faberware from Wal Mart, and Henckle is too expensive...

We have a Calphalon set similar to this one and really like it. Nothing extraordinary, but a very solid set that's served us well for the last three years with no complaints. Use one of the million BB&B 20% off coupons you have laying around the house and you can get the set for $240. It's an absolute steal at that price.

Looked them all up...looks like I'm going to just pick and choose from different brands over time. My next purchase will be some sort of enameled cast iron frying skillet.

Thanks for the suggestions.

I like the Green Pans from Chef Todd English. They sell them on QVC or HSN, I can't remember which.

Amazon has great deals on pots, especially Calphalon. All you really need is a medium sized stockpot, a 12" frypan and a 3 qt saucepan.

True. And maybe a smaller non-stick frying pan for eggs.

This. These three would round off pretty much anything I need. I have a 10 shallow non-stick skillet, but it's not for heavy duty cooking, so that's my egg pan. I've decided I'm going to go for the Lodge enamel coated skillet next...but I'm awfully close to dropping a hundred or so on a Le Creuset skillet. The big holdoff is that it doesn't have a cover like the Lodge does.

I got te Sur la Table cookware two years ago and it is awesome. I have a glass top stove also. They are just as good as the All Clad I've had and they are half the price. Also the handles are more suited to how a pot or pan is held when cooking.
