Dude you are wrong. I just read something on Robinson from September saying he was a possible 1st rounder. He was never a 3rd round pick.

Tuurrrrrrible pick. Loomis in now human when it comes to first round picks. had S from USC, OLB from TCU. doubt Greg Williams wanted this pick.
hope he is allowed to pick guys that are needs on team DT and LB or that Brown is traded to a team with veteran OLB.

Yeah Loomis just ignored Williams and picked who he wanted. God we have dumb fans. I'm totally not one of those "We won the Super Bowl they can do no wrong people" but this is retarded.

It makes a TON of sense especially if Jenkins is going to FS.

People were just blind sided by this because CB wasn't talked about much.

Position Overall Pos. Rank Proj. Round
CB 37 6 1-2

As they said on TV, borderline first rounder is where people had him. Anything else you want to make up.

Freaking out about this is ridiculous. Team won the Super Bowl, we blitz a ton which means you need good corners, the defense was TERRIBLE when Greer and Porter got hurt. What else do you want. We have more picks and we can get more players. People put too much importance filling some need with the 1st round pick. We can still get a LB.

blues, I have faith in these guys, but CB was nowhere near a need.

LBer and DT were major needs, and you had two good LBer prospects at 32 that could've had a more immediate impact outside of special teams.

In the end, I was hoping they'd trade Brown to Detroit for #34, but that ain't happening now.

Initial reaction is WTF, and I admit it was silly, but I was really hoping for a trade there. Can't force a trade I guess. Even if this guy is a solid CB, we've got a ton already outside of Jenkins.

Williams needs lock down corners guys to run the def. he really wants to. Robinson is really good. But you will have to wait and see.

Like who? Greer and Porter is it to me. Don't tell me Gay.

I think 32 is reaching for Washington and CLEARLY something is up with Kindle. I still think it is funny. When did our defense SUCK last year? When Greer and Porter went out.

There is no way they are convinced that jenkins will start at corner with this pick. Maybe they are starting the transition with Jenkins to safety. especially if sharper doesnt return.

I think it is going to happen. Maybe not this year but it will.

I am not against a DB, just seems like we have much bigger needs. If Fujita was still here, I'd say no problem, but with his departure its a lot of expectation on a 4th rounder that's never played (Arnoux), 7th rounder (Mitchell), free agent (Casillas), and FA (Dunbar).

It was obvious by his play this year that MJ is a safety. Saints are setting the table for not having Sharper this year or next. Picking up depth at CB behind Greer and Porter. Makes perfect sense. Especially with William's style of defense.

After all the years we got our asses burnt for 65 yard touchdowns and how we needed corners...now everyone bitches cause we're stockpiling them like water during a hurricane. I rather take my chances on giving up the run then the pass.

For the most part, the Saints don't draft the first pick by need, yet every year people throw a fit when they don't unless it is last year where need and best available matched up.

Exactly. He looked a step too slow for corner to me. Assuming Robinson is a good player this is another one everyone is going to like in the future.

Porter has yet to play a full season.

Greer didn't make it through last season.

Gay can't make it through a series without getting hurt.

Jenkins is better suited for safety.

So we can start McKenzie and Chris McAlister off the street, or a young CB.

If they go four wide, we can throw out Greer, Porter, Robinson and Gay. That is pretty strong.

Im wasnt a huge fan of the jenkins pick because i wanted one of the usc backers. but after watching last season, i do think he is a great tackler.

what was saints biggest weakness last year?
LB not corner. check the run defense out when teams were actually IN games and how well they ran the ball against the saints. does anyone remember the first half that adai had against the saints what about the minnesota game and what adrian peterson did against the saints. with fujita gone, this team needs 2 LBS with their next 5 picks. corners looked bad last year cause teams HAD to throw do to all the turnovers team recovered last year.
last five picks should be

OLB
S
DT
ILB
DE
(best available on offense)

also saints should have traded DOWN to get this guy and got another number 2 and probably a fifth round pick.

hope the madden curse is not rearing its ugly head even before the season starts since it appears that drew is mocking it!!!!!!!
