But let's say Matty Ott starts a game in Omaha, there is no way he goes 9 innings

not many starting pitchers do

So with the season on the line in the 8th and 9th innings, who do you pull out of the bullpen to get the last 6 outs?

If its for an inning or two, and is a need, I wouldn't mind Ranaudo coming in to finish it, or Ross

I could see Ranaudo trying to close it out, but remember, he just had arm problems, and he never recovered quickly in the first place. He undoubtedly would have pitched very recently or he'd be starting the game anyway.

It's alot easier to get outs in the first couple of innings in a game than the last inning. Ross got NSU out 1-2-3 in the 9th last night, but the radio account made it sound like three well hit balls to the warning track or right at people.

If desperate, try to get through the first 5 innings with Johnny Wholestaff, and then trash the set-up guys and go straight to Ott.
