Since we now have Freak, Thomas and hopefully Mickey, is it pretty much certain that chuck hunter will be the odd man out if we get all 3 of these guys on NSD

yeh, it sucks b/c I'm sure he'll be a pretty good player, but for us its not a bad problem to have.

I refuse to believe it. I think he is a tiger in the end. I feel like we have more of a lineman quota then an actual dlineman or olineman quota. I think we make room.

We just offered Gosha and Lincome (juco)....so why can Hunter make it here? I am confused.
Is it numbers or grades?

thomas said he will play end

Even if thomas plays end, we offered two other dt's this week. Why not offer Hunter?

Would Lincome really play DT? 6'5" 335 lbs. Only Albert Haynesworth really pulled that off in college and you see how rare he is

From what I am hearing it is because LSU feels they have Mickey Johnson sewed up and Hunter is a weaker less aggressive player than Johnson.

also, I heard that DT Churphy Steward still plans to go to LSU in 2011 after prep school.

Still a long shot to qualify

It's simply numbers. We have already 5 DT according to Scout.com. We will probably get atleast 3 of them and with limited schollys this upcoming year, we have more needs than just DTs. I'm not saying chuck is not good enough but he might just not be "needed" as much as "wanted"

This year take all four DTs.

Mickey will play the game as long as he can..He is by no means an LSU lock..

For fun, let's throw in Gerrand Johnson.
It would mean we'd have to RS three guys, and prolly not take a DT next year....that presents a problem if there is a great one out there next year that we don't want to go to the TIDE or Ole Miss.
Isn't it reasonable to say that Saban/Nutt would like to nab a two or three star player (whichever position) to get a 'foot in the door' in Louisiana?
I need to get a life.

Well Saban did just offer Mickey

but if he did that could be big

Thomas said in his committment article that the coaches liked him at DE so........we'll see how things play out.
I'm feeling very good on Rasco and feeling cautiously optimistic on Clowney. I think we could have Hughes if we want him...........but perhaps we're slow-playing him a bit?
Certainly a good problem to have.

Not quite based on his Scout article. Sounded like his recruiter wants him to come in for a visit.

Either way we are going to lose some guys this year that some say we should have gotten. But if it's not one guy it's another.

I'm a little confused on numbers. I know its a limited year but how many are we talking? 20? 22? If its closer to 22 then I see us taking 10 linemen all together. I def. think Hunter fits in to that esp. if Q Thomas is going to play DE.
