He was at a Raleigh public school, and apparently he had a lot of attitude problems.

As for Maravich or even Shaq, that was a long time ago. Things have changed so much in the past two decades, with guys like OJ Mayo and Taylor King verbaling after the 8th grade.

Ironically, Kentucky and UCLA never saw those guys.

Yeah, he went to Broughton, which was the big rival for the HS I went to. You couldn't find a school more ill-suited for Wall, the whole school is full of rich, white southern douches. I had heard the attitude problems were overblown and most the players were upset Wall was left off the team, I guess the coach really wasn't a fan of JW.
