who couldn't give 2 shits about spring football???
with the baseball season just gettin revved up and after a piss poor season last year, why would you care??
last season our coach had shepard throwin passes and look what he did with him during the season...nothing.
spring football doesnt mean shite.
it actually bugs me that our local sports will have that as the lead story over any type of baseball story.

I have no interest in spring football. Zero. I tuck football away after the bowl game and don't bring it back out until about a week before the first game. I got enough other things in life to look forward to the next 6 months besides who is going to be 3rd string left tackle.

i dont not care completely, but baseball is the far and away #1 thing for LSU sports right now

I think it is ok that the media covers it, but I think it is funny how many people, especially on this board, think they can tell anything about the future by what happens(or what the internet tells them happened) during spring practice.
I know you all are great fans, but you can't tell from a 15 second news clip that "everyone" is in great shape. Every year we all know the coaches are going to be "focused" and the players will be paying more attention to detail and such than the year before.
I don't care. Talk to me in early September and lets see where the team stands after the North Carolina game.
Having some internet low life blow smoke up your arse about how great everything is will not make for a better season.

I miss football a lot thsi time of year...I have to say tough, that there is so little correlation between what we see in spring practice/game and the team that will take the field in September, that I don't really pay much attention to it at all....

i don't really care either. we're not going to find out much, very few of the new signees are here yet. thank god tiger baseball is what it is, or it'd be a long spring

Not trying to say negative things.
No matter what happens in spring practice, it is by no way a means to judge how a season is going to turn out. You can't really take anything good or bad out of it, but 90% of the post will be about good things. Most of these folks aren't even out there, they are just looking at some pictures and reading the same stuff over and over that Dandy Don and Mike S are posting that doesn't mean shite.
All I am saying is that people shouldn't get too excited either way about this stuff.

Oh I totally agree with you. My original thought was intended to mean that people are going to blow smoke either way, good or bad, just based on what they see in spring, which is stupid. The Chicken Littles are going to see things they don't like and spin it in a negative way, and the over-optimists are going to see things they do like and spin it in a positive way. All in all, I just like to wait til kickoff the first weekend in September.

I disagree - it is the natural tendency for most fans to want to be optimistic about the future or at least have hope that it would turn out well.
That is the whole point of being a fan - being irrational. If we were being logical we should chose and change teams based on how good they are. So even if you think Miles sucks or that our OL is not up to snuff, you want that our team should fare well and win regardless of how we stack up against the others.
Regardless of how the season played out last year - I am looking forward to the next year and look at any and all spring practice news as good signs for a brighter future.
