Charles Perkins - RB (Georgia Tech)
6'0, 195
4.5 40yd

He's not going to out run a lot of angles, but he's going to accelerate through a lot of holes and make people turn to catch him if they can. He doesn't have a lot of shake, but he's subtle in his shiftiness, in that he'll feint to get a guy off balance, then break the tackle. He's strong as can be and uses his stiff arm well. Protects the ball extremely well.

Going to GT with Dwyer leaving is a plus. RB's must produce in their offense. If he can see the field, he will get chances to put up big numbers.

I'm very happy with my team. As you can see, I put a premium on height and athleticism. The only player under 6' (Morgan) is probably the most athletic.

On defense, I drafted with the premise of having 8 guys that can fly around the field, from sideline to sideline. Being able to do that with guys that are above average height is a luxury most coaches don't have.
Offense: Spread/Pro

QB – Robert Bolden - Penn St. (6'4, 205)
RB – Charles Perkins - Georgia Tech (6'0, 195)
RB/Slot – DJ Morgan - USC (5'11, 175)
WR – Matt Milton - Tennessee (6'6, 200)
WR – Andrew Carswell - Pittsburgh (6'4, 210)
TE – Austin Haywood - Oklahoma (6'4, 245)
LT - Morgan Moses - Virginia (6'7, 350)
LG – Kalon Davis - Clemson (6'5, 325)
OC - AJ Cann - Clemson (6'3, 260)
RG – Matt Rotheram - Pittsburgh (6'6, 310)
RT – Tate Nichols - Notre Dame (6'7, 280)

Defense: 3-4

RE - Kaleb Eulls - Mississippi St. (6'4, 255)
DT - Louis Nix - Notre Dame (6'2, 320)
LE -Derrick Bryant - UCLA (6'4, 230)
DE/OLB - Delvin Jones - Ole Miss (6'6, 230)
DE/OLB - Victor Beasley - Clemson (6'5, 225)
MLB - Michael Taylor - Florida (6'1, 215)
OLB – Luke Muncie - LSU (6'3, 215)
CB - DeMarcus Milliner - Alabama (6'2, 180)
CB -
FS - Bryant Jackson - Texas (6'3, 185)
SS - Mike Dorsey - West Virginia (6'3, 210)

Michael Carr - CB (Mississippi St.)
6'1, 195
4.4 40yd

Carr is an extremely talented football player that can be an asset on either side of the ball. He has excellent ball skills and very good hands.

In 2009, he had 961 yards and 18 touchdowns on 42 catches. He Led his team to the 5A state title, was named 1st team All-State by the Clarion Ledger, was named a finalist for Mississippi's Mr. Football, and was named to the Clarion Ledger's Dandy Dozen list.

I really wanted Shaq Richardson of UCLA, a true 6'2 corner, but he was just taken. My final decision was between Tevin McDonald of UCLA and Carr. The huge discrepancy in McDonald's rankings, 20th-72nd, plus his lack of offers pushed me to Carr. This keeps in line with my drafting vision, which was to generally stay in the South if everything else was equal.

He caps off what I think was a great class for me. I was able to select the guys I really wanted and used a method that allowed me to select guys that I really liked at each position, rather than picking the guys I really liked in the first 4-5 rounds and then just picking the highest rated player available the rest of the way out.
While I really like my team, I will definitely take advantage of the Supplemental rounds. There are a few guys I have my eye on that could really add to my team.

Now that we all have a QB, I wanted to ask why you guys think James Franklin (Missouri) wasn't selected.

Rivals has him as:
#152 overall
#4 Dual threat QB
#4 Most accurate
#5 Best scrambler

I almost took him instead of Terrance Broadway. My guess is b/c he had next to no offers. He committed real early on (March 09).

Just curious.

137) fightingsaint3 - Brent Benedict, OT
251) ivii2 - Skyler Schofner, OT
348) OBUDan - Corey Cooper, DB (taken the pick before mine.)
374) jembeurt - Toney Hurd, CB (taken two picks before mine.)
391) crowbar832001 - Parker Mack, OL (again, two picks before mine.)

These are my misses, however I don't think I'd trade they guys I picked before for any of these guys besides maybe Mack.

Week 1 CFB Recruiting Team Update:

1) Shon Coleman: Can't find any updated information about him, but he's not currently listed on the Auburn roster.

2) Markeith Ambles: Ambles is running as the 2nd WR behind Sr. Ronald Johnson, so he should see plenty of time this season.

3) Adrian Hubbard: Currently a 3rd string LB behind Junior, Courtney Upshaw, and RS Fr. Ed Stinson.

4) Demar Dorsey: Denied admission into Michigan and the rumor is he was headed to Louisville... however, classes have started and he's still not on campus...

5) Andrew Hendrix: Hendrix is headed for a RS, it seems, and currently playing with the scout team behind some experienced guys, but Brian Kelly had this to say about him: "I can tell you Hendrix can throw the ball like nobody I coached - he's got an incredible arm. His arm strength is off the charts."

6) Demetrius Wright: Sharing 2nd team FS duties with fellow true freshman Dion Bailey.

7) Christian Bryant: Currently splitting duties backing up a Senior at the nickel back spot.

8) Jordon James: Running 3rd string RB behind two experienced guys and fellow true freshman Malcolm Jones.

9) Dakota Royer: Not currently listed in the depth chart, but is playing LB.

10) Andrew Rodriguez: Can't find any news about him. Nebraska doesn't like to update their depth charts.

11) Evan Hailes: Not currently listed on the two-deep, but is on the roster.

12) Jalen Fields: Failed to qualify academically and landed at Georgia Military College.

13) Antonio Goodwin: Running 3rd string behind Darvin Adams and DeAngelo Benton.

14) Corey Cooper: Can't find any news about him. Nebraska doesn't like to update their depth charts.

15) Travon Van: Failed to qualify academically at Florida, now at Marshall. Is listed as a RB on their roster, not currently on the depth chart.

16) Darryl Baldwin: Listed as a DE, but not currently on the two-deep.

17) Christian Pace: Looks like he's cruising for a redshirt.

18) Chris Jones: Listed at WR on Texas' roster, but not currently on the two deep.

19) Clarence Jackson: Listed as the number 2 WLB going into the season and will see time.

20) Telvin Smith: Currently listed as 3rd team WLB. Interestingly, I decided to pick up Smith and drop Preston Brown (picked him narrowly over Clarence Jackson) and now Preston Brown is the starting MLB for Louisville. Doesn't mean he'll have a better career... but he's off to a quick start.

21) Chase Hughes: Enrolled in January but suffered a shoulder injury that limited him. Not currently in the two deep.

22) Dan Foose: Cruising for a redshirt... no shocker.

23) Jatashun Beachum: Can't find much info on "Big Tex" yet, but he's listed as an ATH on the roster.

24) Kyle Baublitz: Listed as the 3rd team DE currently.

Soooo all in all, most of my guys won't contribute early.

Had a few non-qualifiers, one of which is still looking for a place to land.

Good thing this is a marathon, not a sprint.
