my cheap ways go all the way back to the roller skating rinks in the late 70s.
the original space invaders would accept a penny instead of a quarter if you 'thumped' it into the machine with just the right amount of force.
the look on the clerk's face when i asked for 25 pennies for my quarter was priceless
of course it helped the game was in a dark corner of the skating rink and no really could give a shite what i was doing over there.
